  1. I would like to get help, on how to slow down ScrollTrigger fromTo animations. The goal is to increase the duration of the animations (and the positon of the last fromTo), and this will make the animations slower. Since scrub turned true (to control the animation with the scrolling), the duration property does not have any effect. What am I missing? Thank you in advance for your help! tl = gsap.timeline({ scrollTrigger: { trigger: '.feature-holder', scrub: true, pin: true, pinSpacing: true, markers: false, }, }); tl .fromTo( '.feature-overlay', { autoAlpha: 0, }, { autoAlpha: 0.25, duration: 3, }, ) .fromTo( '.feature-text', { autoAlpha: 0, y: 5, }, { autoAlpha: 1, y: 0, duration: 1, }, '>', ) .fromTo( '.feature-text', { autoAlpha: 1, }, { autoAlpha: 0, duration: 1, }, '>+=10', );
  2. Hi can anyone please help me find what is wrong with this animation, it works very well in chrome and IE but very slow and jerky n firefox. thanks Jas
  3. Dear GSAP comrades, Why do I get for some HOSTED DrawSVG animations from codepen 1 FPS when using CHROME on Mobile? They work fully FINE ON FF but just not on CHROME! How can this be? Only on Codepen it runs also well on mobile. Can someone solve me the riddle? Thanks for any suggestions, Mat
  4. Hi! I have two videos on the timeline: After some seconds of the playing of the second video, it calls dispose() of the first one. But the dispose free the memory from the first one so fast that the play of the second video gives a small "bottleneck" in playback at the time of the dispose(). A "bottleneck" of half a second, but ideally it would not "bottleneck" anything and the playback would be 100% fluid. Is there a way of the dispose() free the memory more slowly? Thanks a lot.
  5. Hi, I'm having real issues with a draggable map I've created, specifically on devices using iOS. My animations all run nicely, however when I press and try to drag the map around, there's a good 4-5 seconds before the page responds, and then the move happens instantly, rather than smoothly. If necessary I can provide you with a link to view the development site if that helps, however, I'll need to send it privately if possible? There are a number of layers creating the map, all stacked on top of each other - might this have something to do with it? Any help you're able to give me would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards

    Hey guys, i was wondering if there was a way to animate a background so that it is slowly moving or could add some different kind of effects. Thank you!
  7. hello guys, i have problems with safari because my animations are very slow and in chrome is very fast, Can someone help me with this ? in this moment I use scrollMagic a example of my code !!! let animationParallax = new TimelineMax() .to(".Somos__Header", 20, {y: "-140%", ease: Linear.easeNone}) this.somosScene = new ScrollMagic.Scene({ triggerElement: ".Somos__Container" , duration: '50%', offset: -300 }) .setTween(animationParallax) .addTo(controller) url: http://2017.monoku.com/
  8. Hello, I have 9 svgs takes fullpage at each, each svg contains several elements, runs about 6 seconds to complete. On computer everything works great, but on mobile it starts to slow down , even on iPad pro 12.9. (so slow). My site has 9 svgs, each takes fullpage, you can scroll to see different animation. Here is my site: https://rockmandash.github.io/InteractiveInfographic/ If you open the url on computer, it will load pc version svg and code, otherwise it will load mobile version svg and code XD. Here is a svg animation code look like: tlScene02.from($svg02topLine, 0.6, topLineParameter, 0.5) .from($svg02bottomLine, 0.6, bottomLineParameter, 0.5) .from($svg02Heading, 0.3, HeadingParameter, 0.7) .from($svg02subHeading, 0.4, subHeadingParameter, 0.8) .from($svg02Bg, 0.4, { y: -100, opacity: 0 }, 0.9) .from($svg02Door, 0.4, { y: -100, opacity: 0 }, 1) //---------------------------港澳 .to($svg02PeopleHongKongAndMacao, 0.7, { y: 190, opacity: 1, ease: Power1.easeIn }, 1.4) .to($svg02PeopleHongKongAndMacao, 0.7, { x: -90, ease: Power1.easeOut }, 2.1) .from($svg02BubbleHongKongAndMacao, 0.6, { scale: 0, transformOrigin: '50% 50%', ease: Back.easeOut.config(1.7) }, 2.8) .from($svg02LineHongKongAndMacao, 0.1, { y: 3, opacity: 0 }, 2.9) .from($svg02TextHongKongAndMacao, 0.4, { scale: 0, transformOrigin: '50% 50%' }, 3) .from($svg02FlagHongKong, 0.4, { scale: 0, transformOrigin: '50% 50%', ease: Back.easeOut.config(1.7) }, 3.1) .from($svg02FlagMacao, 0.4, { scale: 0, transformOrigin: '50% 50%', ease: Back.easeOut.config(1.7) }, 3.2) .call(animateNumberIncreasing, [$svg02NumberHongKongAndMacao, 14.5, 1, 'percent']) //14.5 % .from($svg02NumberHongKongAndMacao, 0.4, { scale: 0, transformOrigin: '50% 50%' }, 3.5) //---------------------------中國 .to($svg02PeopleChina, 0.7, { y: 70, opacity: 1, ease: Power1.easeIn }, 1.9) .to($svg02PeopleChina, 0.7, { x: -140, ease: Power1.easeOut }, 2.6) .from($svg02BubbleChina, 0.6, { scale: 0, transformOrigin: '50% 50%', ease: Back.easeOut.config(1.7) }, 3.3) .from($svg02LineChina, 0.1, { y: 3, opacity: 0 }, 3.4) .from($svg02TextChina, 0.4, { scale: 0, transformOrigin: '50% 50%' }, 3.5) .from($svg02FlagChina, 0.4, { scale: 0, transformOrigin: '50% 50%', ease: Back.easeOut.config(1.7) }, 3.6) .call(animateNumberIncreasing, [$svg02NumberChina, 40.1, 1, 'percent']) //40.1 % .from($svg02NumberChina, 0.4, { scale: 0, transformOrigin: '50% 50%' }, 3.9) //---------------------------日本 .to($svg02PeopleJapan, 0.7, { y: 80, opacity: 1, ease: Power1.easeIn }, 2.4) .to($svg02PeopleJapan, 0.7, { x: 130, ease: Power1.easeOut }, 3.1) .from($svg02BubbleJapan, 0.6, { scale: 0, transformOrigin: '50% 50%', ease: Back.easeOut.config(1.7) }, 3.8) .from($svg02LineJapan, 0.1, { y: 3, opacity: 0 }, 3.9) .from($svg02TextJapan, 0.4, { scale: 0, transformOrigin: '50% 50%' }, 4) .from($svg02FlagJapan, 0.4, { scale: 0, transformOrigin: '50% 50%', ease: Back.easeOut.config(1.7) }, 4.1) .call(animateNumberIncreasing, [$svg02NumberJapan, 15.6, 1, 'percent']) //15.6 % .from($svg02NumberJapan, 0.4, { scale: 0, transformOrigin: '50% 50%' }, 4.4) //---------------------------東南亞 .to($svg02PeopleSoutheastAsia, 0.7, { y: 200, opacity: 1, ease: Power1.easeIn }, 2.9) .to($svg02PeopleSoutheastAsia, 0.7, { x: 115, ease: Power1.easeOut }, 3.6) .from($svg02BubbleSoutheastAsia, 0.6, { scale: 0, transformOrigin: '50% 50%', ease: Back.easeOut.config(1.7) }, 4.3) .from($svg02LineSoutheastAsia, 0.1, { y: 3, opacity: 0 }, 4.4) .from($svg02TextSoutheastAsia, 0.4, { scale: 0, transformOrigin: '50% 50%' }, 4.5) .from($svg02FlagSingapore, 0.4, { scale: 0, transformOrigin: '50% 50%', ease: Back.easeOut.config(1.7) }, 4.6) .from($svg02FlagThai, 0.4, { scale: 0, transformOrigin: '50% 50%', ease: Back.easeOut.config(1.7) }, 4.7) .from($svg02FlagMalaysia, 0.4, { scale: 0, transformOrigin: '50% 50%', ease: Back.easeOut.config(1.7) }, 4.8) .from($svg02FlagPhilippines, 0.4, { scale: 0, transformOrigin: '50% 50%', ease: Back.easeOut.config(1.7) }, 4.9) .from($svg02FlagVietnam, 0.4, { scale: 0, transformOrigin: '50% 50%', ease: Back.easeOut.config(1.7) }, 5) .call(animateNumberIncreasing, [$svg02NumberSoutheastAsia, 13.7, 1, 'percent']) //13.7 % .from($svg02NumberSoutheastAsia, 0.4, { scale: 0, transformOrigin: '50% 50%' }, 5.3) .from($svg02BottomText, 0.4, BottomTextParameter, 5.2); You can see my site is almost complete, but I really don't like the low speed on mobile. All the animation done inside svg so I think I probably can not cache them as png or wrap them as div? So I was thinking moving to canvas will get better? I haven't try it yet. Please help, thank you! update: I think canvas is much more worse, so my problem stick to svg mobile performance issues.
  9. Hi, I'm creating an animated website with scrollMagic and I'm using the following animations: <a href="http://www.scrollmagic.io/examples/expert/bezier_path_animation.html">http://www.scrollmagic.io/examples/expert/bezier_path_animation.html</a> <a href="http://www.scrollmagic.io/examples/advanced/svg_drawing.html">http://www.scrollmagic.io/examples/advanced/svg_drawing.html</a> <a href="http://www.scrollmagic.io/examples/basic/simple_pinning.html">http://www.scrollmagic.io/examples/basic/simple_pinning.html</a> It's an onepage website so I'm using them all at once. But when I run the examples on the scrollMagic website in safari there running as smooth as possible. But then when I run the website I'm working on, I have to wait something like 10 seconds before even something appears. Then I wanna scroll, cuz that's when the magic comes in. u see what I did there? But then when I scroll, the new content also loads only after too many seconds Can somebody tell me why and what I'm doing wrong? The website is http://wordpress.webdesignwiljan.nl I'm also placing divs as stars in the sky, already removed it and it didn't make a difference I'm also drawing an live canvas clock even just a simple jQuery fadeIn takes too long.. var map1, map2, map3, map4, map5 = null; 10. Posting this for future Google searchers: To slow down a repeating animation in GSAP so it seems like it's losing momentum until it reaches the end position, animate both the 'timeScale' and 'progress' properties! Thanks to zadvorsky and zachsaucier for their help. var spin = TweenMax.to('#group',2,{ transformOrigin: 'center center', rotation: 360, ease: 'Linear.easeNone', repeat: -1, paused: true }); document.getElementById('finish').addEventListener('click',function(){ var remaining = spin.timeScale() * ( spin.duration() - spin.time() ) * 3; TweenMax.to(spin, remaining, { timeScale: 0, ease: 'Linear.easeNone', onComplete: function(){ spin.pause(); } },0); TweenMax.to(spin, remaining, { progress: 1, ease: 'Power3.easeOut', },0); }); I haven't figured out a better way to calculate how long the slow-down animation should last. "spin.timeScale() * ( spin.duration() - spin.time() ) * 3" feels right for this animation, but three is a bit of a magic number. Any ideas on how to better calculate that?
  11. Hello guys, I'm with a doubt in building an application. I have a home screen where there are multiple animations. The animations are made in SVG images. But the problem is that they are getting too slow and when they stop using scroll animate (in IOS) and are slower (on Android). Could someone tell me if there is any limit animations for a mobile application? or if it really works? Thank you very much in advance
  12. My animation is slow but my various browser debugging tools don't show where the delay is happening. I will post again with specifics and a Codepen if this fails, but could someone take a look at my animation and tell me how they would approach understanding its performance? What tools do you use to see how long things are taking, how memory is being used, and where the bottlenecks are? http://catalyst.goodlookingsoftware.com/a/ Many thanks, Aaron
  13. I am using GSAP along with a ScrollMagic plugin to time my animations using the user scroll. Everything works great on desktop, animations are smooth and look nice. But when I load the site on tablet and mobile issues start to show up. I have an iPad and a Galaxy S4, and the galaxy is performing much better than the iPad is. On scroll for the Galaxy there is a short jump at the start, past that the animations are a bit slow but work in general. When it comes to the iPad, the animations are nonexistant... on scroll everything locks up and moves for the scroll, then it seems to reload and moves everything to where they should be instantly. There is no tweening or easing happening and creates a very poor experience on tablet. Im looking for a way to improve performence on mobile / tablet and allow tweening and easing to happen at all on tablet. Thank you
  14. Hi I have a slideshow and it's good in all browsers except in chrome the animations are very laggy and slow and the speed is around 5 fps !! Here is my slider function : function slide() { var rule = CSSRulePlugin.getRule("#sctrl table"); //get the rule if (scId == 1) {var color = "#2a2a2a"} else {var color="#f2f2f2"}; if (scId < currentslide) { TweenMax.to("#sc", 0.9, {left:scId * 45, ease:Power1.easeIn}); TweenMax.to('#slide' + currentslide, 0.9, {left:'100%', ease: Power2.easeInOut}); TweenMax.to('#st' + currentslide, 1.2, {left: '100%', ease: Power2.easeIn}); TweenMax.to('#slide' + scId, 0.9, {left:'0', ease: Power2.easeInOut}); TweenMax.to('#st' + scId, 1.2, {left: '11%', ease: Power2.easeIn,onComplete:defaultslide}); TweenMax.to(rule, 1, {cssRule:{borderColor:color}, ease: Power2.easeIn}); TweenMax.to('#sc', 1, {backgroundColor: color, ease: Power2.easeIn}); } else { TweenMax.to("#sc", 1.1, {left:scId * 45, ease:Power1.easeIn}); TweenMax.to('#slide' + currentslide, 1.1, {left: '-100%', ease: Power1.easeInOut}); TweenMax.to('#st' + currentslide, 1.3, {left: '-=100%', ease: Power1.easeIn}); TweenMax.to('#slide' + scId, 1.1, {left: '0', ease: Power1.easeInOut}); TweenMax.to('#st' + scId, 1.3, {left: '-=89%', ease: Power1.easeIn,onComplete:defaultslide}); TweenMax.to(rule, 1, {cssRule:{borderColor:color}, ease: Power2.easeIn}); TweenMax.to('#sc', 1, {backgroundColor: color, ease: Power2.easeIn}); } } the #slide is photos and the #st is the slide's text on the photos and #sc is a slide control for switching beetween slides. I recall this function every 6 seconds (except the first time that is 4 seconds) with this code : TweenMax.delayedCall(4, slideauto); function slideauto () { var slider = new TimelineLite(); if (scId==2){ scId=-1; } scId++; slide(); TweenMax.delayedCall(6, slideauto); } at first I thought it might be because of the large photos but it didn't make any change when I replaced the background photos with background color. then I removed this line of my code and the speed a little improved ( like 15 fps) but it's still too slow. TweenMax.to(rule, 1, {cssRule:{borderColor:color}, ease: Power2.easeIn}); I want to know how can I optimize my code to run faster and smoother in every browser. Thank you.
  15. I have movie clips rotating in a circle. When they near the end of their rotation, they slow down. I would like the rotation to be at a constant speed the whole time. This is my code: var circle:CirclePath2D = new CirclePath2D(275, 200, 45.15); function rotateCircle():void{ TweenLite.to(Circle3, 4, {circlePath2D:{path:circle, startAngle:90, endAngle:90, autoRotate:true, direction:Direction.COUNTER_CLOCKWISE, extraRevolutions:1}}); TweenLite.to(Circle2, 4, {circlePath2D:{path:circle, startAngle:18, endAngle:18, autoRotate:true, direction:Direction.COUNTER_CLOCKWISE, extraRevolutions:1}}); TweenLite.to(Circle4, 4, {circlePath2D:{path:circle, startAngle:306, endAngle:306, autoRotate:true, direction:Direction.COUNTER_CLOCKWISE, extraRevolutions:1}}); TweenLite.to(Circle1, 4, {circlePath2D:{path:circle, startAngle:162, endAngle:162, autoRotate:true, direction:Direction.COUNTER_CLOCKWISE, extraRevolutions:1}}); TweenLite.to(Circle5, 4, {circlePath2D:{path:circle, startAngle:234, endAngle:234, autoRotate:true, direction:Direction.COUNTER_CLOCKWISE, extraRevolutions:1}}); }
  16. Hi, I am trying to make an animation where a wheel eases in to rotate quickly then stops really slowly for 10 seconds. So I would like it to run slowly for about the last 3 seconds. I am struggling to get this really slow ease out and was hoping someone would have some advice? I have looked at every ease class available, I have tried making my own custom ease, but it seems I just cannot physically achieve the ease out I want. I have also tried using the ThrowProps plugin but again the easing was not good enough. All I want is an ease out that causes the rotation to move really slowly for the last third of my animation. I generally use the TweenLite.to() method to start my animation. Thanks!
