  1. Hi all, bit of a conundrum: I have a rudimentary globe and looking to animate a simple spin. I've decided on using scaleX and transformOrigin: "100% 50%" to just scale over to -1 and it works 'perfectly'. Unfortunately scaleX also scales the stroke—I tested vector-effect="non-scaling-stroke" but unfortunately it removes the proportion / resizing attributes that I'm relying on to keep the SVG working as intended in IE11. Besides switching to stroke-width: 3.5vw and media queries or some variation, any simple solutions?
  2. I need help trying to scale and center to a certain element within an svg. I am using jquery.ui.layout, tweenmax and draggable. I use getBBox() to get the group element's location in the svg file, and then use the values here: TweenLite.to(svgness, 1.5, scaleX: 3, scaleY: 3, svgOrigin: x + " " + y }); It sort of works, but then the element is not really centered in the window.
  3. ** I seem to have hit the back button when posting this so it has posted twice - feel free to delete the older version** Hi I have a tween where I am scaling a div with a class of .btn, which i'm scaling on its x-axis with scaleX. I also have a hover effect on this button after it has animated in, and on this hover I've put a CSS transition. The CSS transition changes the behaviour of the tween and I've tried a few things to try and overcome this, but I'm getting nowhere. My question therefore is, is there a way to have an element animated with greensock (in this case on pageload) and also allocate a CSS transition to the element for other interactions (i.e. a hover effect) after the animation has finished? GSAP TweenMax.to(".btn-scale", 1, {scaleX:1, delay: 1, ease:Linear.easeNone}); CSS .btn { border-radius: 1px; padding: 1.2rem 2.2rem; letter-spacing: .5px; cursor: pointer; transition: 0.6s; letter-spacing: 1px; background-color: #1D2F42; width: 200px; } /*for greensock*/ .btn-scale { transform-origin: left; transform: scaleX(0); }
  4. Alright, I'm losing my mind... I'm new to Animate CC (have worked with AE and multiple other software) and I'm trying to make nice banner ads. The thing I want is to have a button (a button as in looks, not as in technical name in Animate) scale a bit up when I hover/mouseover it. This video below learned me that the best way to do that is with a movieclip (around 12:40). I copied his code and replaced the symbol name and function name with mine. awesomest_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OVER, awesomestOver); awesomest_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OUT, awesomestOut); function awesomestOver(e:MouseEvent):void{ TweenMax.to(awesomest_mc, .8, {tint:0xCD38CD, scaleX:1.5, scaleY:1.5}) } function awesomestOut(e:MouseEvent):void{ TweenMax.to(awesomest_mc, .5, {tint:0x379bff, scaleX:1, scaleY:1}) } After a few hours (sigh) I found out that TweenMax doesn't work by default. So I found this awesome video by Greensock how to implement it with the url on this website. But it still doesn't work.. When I preview it it just shows a loading image.. Can someone.. please explain this SUPER easy (for you animation jedi's) effect....? Thank you!! Noah Smits
  5. I am new to GSAP and am putting together a 2.5D rotating coin using GSAP scaleX and x. The coin is meant to a) "rotate" in the tails side, then rotate out the tails side, then c) rotate in the heads side, then d) rotate out the heads side, and then the loop of the sequence begins the rotate in of the tails side again. I have gotten the animation as far as c), but when I try to use scaleX to start d), something happens to the timeline and the "heads" side of the coin appears from the very start of the animation. I have included a codepen here: https://codepen.io/bamartelly/pen/RgayML If you un-comment lines 103 to 108 (pasted in below too) you can see the animation breaking when I try to start implementing step d). .fromTo(coin.heads, flipTime,{ scaleX:1, x:0 } , { scaleX:0, x:8 }, "headEnd") Here's the codepen with lines 103 to 108 uncommented, you can see how it all turns to custard: Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  6. Hi there, GSAPJS does a great job to bring AS posibilities to JS. However there is one thing that seems to be missing - and i might probably be out of scope but i'll go ahead and ask: Is there a convenient way in GSAPJS to easily get values back from the transform property - scaleX, scaleY, RotationX, skewX etc... ? Or do we need to work with the 2D and 3D matrix? Right now I'm using $("selector").data(key, value) to store (set/get) these variable but I was hoping to find a better way of accessing these values in real time. Anyways, here is an example that works fine using $().data() : http://jsfiddle.net/Dqg2n/3/ Thanks for your work, you make coding so conveninent!!
  7. I'm trying to create an infographic using scrollmagic/greensock, where I have everything in layers, and each layer tweens down to nothing as you scroll down, so whatever is beneath it is revealed on scroll. I already tried using svgs and clippaths, which was a nightmare since I'm new to them and scrollmagic both. So I decided to use css border-radius. My problem right now is that I'm trying to scale these down and nothing seems to be happening. If I look in my console I will see the styles scaleX: 0 and scaleY: 0 have been applied but the image will still be the same width and height. It doesn't move at all.
  8. Hi, I am having an issue animating/tweening the width of a rect element within an SVG. When using scaleX with a percentage value, the rect animated perfectly, however the SVG stroke scales with the box, which is not ideal, I would also prefer to specify a specific value as opposed to a percentage. When using width with a pixel value (without appending "px"), the rect does not animate. If you inspect the element you will notice the animation being applied to the correct element, however the value being applied to the rect is specified in pixels with the "px" appended, which is not a value SVG elements recognise/respond to. I hope my explanation makes sense. If anyone can shed some light on this it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
  9. My colleague had scaled a DIV container with text/vector graphics. It looks super sharp on a retina screen in firefox, but on a regular monitor he has connected it looks blurry. For me it looks like on the retina it has scaled the fonts, but on the regular screen it seems like it has bitmaped and scaled (everything is blurry) Any workarounds? We used Elements inspector to check the width/height after scale and it´s whole pixel values.
  10. Hey Guys, Ran into a problem where IE8 is not scaling an image. I've read several posts but nothing seems to work (element must be absolute, etc...) Here is a super basic example... http://duke.innovah.com/dukeregional/test.html Here's the JS: $(document).ready(function() { var bool = true; $('#campus').click(function(){ var _scale = (bool) ? .7: 1; TweenLite.to($('#campus'), 1, {scale:_scale}); bool = !bool; }); }); Works in all tested browsers except IE8. In IE8 the image pans a little but no scaling. I've also tried using scaleX and scaleY instead of scale. Note: I'm using IE10 in Browser Mode: IE8 and Document Mode: IE8 standards. When IE10 is in "compatibility" mode the issue also occurs. Any help or workaround is greatly appreciated!
  11. Hi, Just started using Tween for JS, used to use AS version, so i was exited to find a JS version First of all works great, BUT I am having som problems with IE8 (( Basically I am trying to scale a Image from small to VERY large. To maintain relative good quality i have initially scale the image down, and I am then using scaleX/scaleY to scale the image up in size. Works like a charm in Safari, Chrom, Firefox and IE9, BUT breaks in IE8 Seams like IE8 is scalling very poorly, very bad quality when scaled up, but WORSE it seems to hide the overflow, so one can only se the image, in the area where the original image was You can see for yourself here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/2146283/html/example.htm and fiddle here: http://jsfiddle.net/ha4PT/8/light/ Hope someone can help, would really prefer this over jquery UI Kind regards Mr.Morton
