It looks like your right. The text input problem is something with my code. Unfortunately there's no error that I can find. I have no idea how to fix the problem. I guess I'll start ripping parts out and wait until the problem is gone. :/

false alarm. text input works in the flash ide but not once I upload the file to my web site. What could be the problem?

Well I rewrote the loader file because I forgot to save it and this time everything works. The only thing different I can tell is that I've included the requireWithRoot:this.root property.

I tested out the loaderMax software but I wasn't able to continue using it because input text on the loaded swf couldn't seem to get focus. Everything else seemed to work as expected. Is this a bug or am I missing something? Apoligies if this was asked before but I couldn't find it while searching. Thank you
