Hi!

I'm trying to use the 'Helper Function' for Lottie Scroll Trigger into Nuxt 3 app. I followed a lot of entries from forum and instructions from 'Helpers Function' section GSAP docs. But when defining 'anim' variable with:

Nuxt's Vite throw following error:

I actually have imported GSAP and Lottie modules via CDN as recommended.

Have someone follow any idea why this happens or how can I fixed?

Thanks.

Hi @SebastianAD and welcome to the GreenSock forums!

It's pretty tough to troubleshoot without a minimal demo - the issue could be caused by CSS, markup, a third party library, your browser, an external script that's totally unrelated to GSAP, etc. Would you please provide a very simple CodePen or Stackblitz that demonstrates the issue?

Please don't include your whole project. Just some colored <div> elements and the GSAP code is best. See if you can recreate the issue with as few dependancies as possible. If not, incrementally add code bit by bit until it breaks. Usually people solve their own issues during this process! If not, then at least we have a reduced test case which greatly increases your chances of getting a relevant answer.

Here's a starter CodePen that loads all the plugins. Just click "fork" at the bottom right and make your minimal demo

Using a framework/library like React, Vue, Next, etc.?

CodePen isn't always ideal for these tools, so here are some Stackblitz starter templates that you can fork and import the gsap-trial NPM package for using any of the bonus plugins:

Please share the StackBlitz link directly to the file in question (where you've put the GSAP code) so we don't need to hunt through all the files.

Once we see an isolated demo, we'll do our best to jump in and help with your GSAP-specific questions.

Finally it would be better to install lottie-web using NPM and import lottie in the file where you are using the helper function:

@Rodrigo @GSAP Helper your comments where pretty useful. Thanks a lot.

First I checked for Lottie installs, before start w code breaks, and found that I had issues with Lottie library. Then, review the Stackblitz example and found that I made wrong the Lottie imports into script. So... initial problem is solved. But now there is a new one. This time error says:

Quote

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot set property window of #<Window> which has only a getter at gsap.min.js:10:160

Do you know what could go wrong this time?

Hi,

I don't know a lot about Lottie since I haven't used it a lot.

As far as I know the format has to be JSON, no way around it, but I could be wrong. As for the hosting, I think the best option is to add the files to the same host where the site is hosted. Another way is to save the JSON data to a file, import it and use the animationData config instead of the path:

import { onMounted } from "vue";

import LottieScrollTrigger from './helpers/lottieScrollTrigger';
import lottieJson from "./assets/my-lottie-file.json";

let ctx;

onMounted(() => {
  ctx = gsap.context(() => {
    LottieScrollTrigger({
      target: ".lottie-target",
      animationData: lottieJson,
      speed: 'medium',
      start: 'top top',
      end: '+=100%',
      pin: true,
      scrub: 1,
    });
  });
});

Hopefully this helps.

Happy Tweening!
