jsco
I've been using figma to draw my svg's, but figma gets rid of my classnames and other attributes in the svg whenever I make a change. This is frustrating because I usually go back and forth between animating in code and changing the svg in figma and have to manually re-add all these classes again. It also doesn't respect <text> elements What svg editor do you guys use? Do you have the same workflow?
Cassie
Figma's terrible for SVG stuff. Affinity is my favourite cost effective alternative. But any solution is going to involve a bit of to-ing and fro-ing tbh. https://jakearchibald.github.io/svgomg this is great for cleaning up too
jsco
@Cassie Funny timing, I'm literally doing one of your tutorials right now Thanks, I'll give Affinity a try. Shame that there's no solution that just keeps the svg completely as is

Affinity will keep your layer names if that's all you're after!
simesy
Affinity Designer stripped my data-xxx attributes. So far I've not found an editor that lets you edit attributes (eg class) other than the id. On OSX tried Sketch, Figma, Affinity Designer, but unable to try Inkscape due to currently incompatibility with OSX Ventura.
Simiantics
Late to the party, but @simesy - I've been using Inkscape Alpha on Sonoma and it's - tolerable. Some harmless display artifacting when I resize the screen, but it goes away.
simesy
I really appreciate this perfect timing! I have to do an SVG soon (I don't do many) and I'm on Sonoma
