Should I only use divs for SplitText?

Are there any issues animating h1 <h1 id=“txt1”>SplitText <br>text.</h1>, or is it best practice to always use divs <div id=“txt1”>SplitText <br>text.</div> when animating with splittext?

Nope, you can use h1 (or any other heading as well) without any issues:
