ScrollTrigger on fixed element

Hey all! I am trying to implement ScrollTrigger on a fixed element. The idea was to trigger the element I use from space (.spacer). Can anyone tell me how to do it?

Something like this maybe? (Scroll until the bottom of you salmon-colored section passes that indicator I added)

Since your footer would always be in place though, you'd have to adjust it accordingly if you had more sections before the footer if you were to go the route shown above.

So it would probably be better for flexibility to make it trigger dependent on the last section before the footer. Something like this maybe:
