Image reveal animation

Hi, 

I saw image animation, reveal on scrolling, and I'm wondering - how it's done? I see that they use TweenMax and clipping path, but I can't understand how. Can you drop me some ideas?

This is a demo answer from another thread, but should give you some ideas.

Looks like CodePen is still having troubles so the pen embed isn't working right.

 

You can certainly use a mask or clip-path. The demo I posted above just uses a simple cover over the photos. They are currently black, but you could  make them white (or whatever color background you have on your page) and it would look like they appear from nowhere.
