GreenSock WordCloud?

It has been a while since I was playing with GreenSock and was getting ready to send off for new business cards when I thought I would do a word cloud on the back side. I have been looking for something online and have found a few good ones, but the good ones don't group words on the same line together, and the bad ones leave tons of space between words. Eventually I remembered all the cool stuff OSUBlake and others have done with Draggable / Sortable and just wondered if someone would help me out.

Wordle makes the nicest looking ones, but there is no grouping at all - and you have to use IE / Safari because it uses Java: http://www.wordle.net/

 

I don't usually just ask for help without demonstrating all the work I have done first, but I am feeling out of my depth and short on time. If nobody feels like taking on the project, I understand, but I hoped someone would take an interest in it as a fun thing to have under their name.

Sorry I am little confused, you mean you need need word cloud to print business cards? That's really odd question for GreenSock forum.

 

Anyway, you can use https://www.jasondavies.com/wordcloud/  to generate the cloud for you by using just first word of each line. After that you need to use illustrator or something else to edit downloaded SVG from that site. Just change the text to lines, minor adjustments to fix overlapping text and done.

 

Doing that programmatically is going to be time consuming and doesn't seem somebody needs to write code for it either.

I can do it in Illustrator, the reason I thought of GreenSock was remembering this demo: https://greensock.com/?example=sortable-grid-using-draggable

 which seemed like the perfect type of solution. Create a transparent block for each line of text, rotate half of them 90 degrees and jumble the order.

 

For some reason I didn't notice the options on JasonDavies.com that let me pick the orientation. Setting it to 2 between 0-90 degrees gives me something easy to work with in illustrator, but it would have been cool to be able to drag and sort them with GreenSock using something like that example.

However you do it I would shorten your list, that's a lot of words to fit on a business card. You'll end up getting it looking perfect and then realize that when sized to business card they'll be too small to read.

It is a lot of info, and I don't expect most people to read it but we are offering our services for $50/month where most other companies are $300-$500/month. I need people to know that we still have all the important features, we just charge less

I guess if all the text is the same size you can squeeze it in. I assumed when you said word cloud that it would text of all different sizes which would make the text at the smaller end of the scale likely too small to read.
