Hi, I am trying to achieve an effect with text so that the characters are staggered, which is easily accomplished.

But I want to ONLY EFFECT every other character to animate it's Y position. Then I would create another stagger effect to animate the remaining characters (every other letter that is left) and animate their Y positions in the opposite direction -- so it's sort of a zipper effect.

Is there a way to stagger only every other character, and then stagger every character that remains ?

My CodePen only shows all characters Y positions animating from the same starting point.

Thanks Jamie,

Sounds simple. A few questions:

Do I need to actually place the letters in each array / What if there are repeating letters

var i = 0, odd = ["T", "E"], even = ["H", "B"];
while (i < chars.length) {
  if (i < chars.length) odd.push(chars[i++]);

And I tried adding this but I didn't get any results, Do I then need to alter my 'staggerFrom' ?
