Strange indent below

Hi!
Two questions:
1. What is this indent below the last red block? If I remove the scripts, the indent disappears.

2. Same with the right column. It is very narrow now, but if I remove the scripts, it becomes equal to half the width of the window.

It seems to me that you're trying to achieve something like this:

That is a far simpler approach, which should help you get on the right track.
