Hello! I'd like to sell GSAP-enhanced themes and plugins on Squarespace for a creative studio I'm building.

I understand I need to let buyers know about the GSAP pricing plans if they plan on editing the code and using the plugins for eComm purposes.

But how often do GSAP plugins update? Should I be offering a GSAP/code support option in case templates and plugins don't work after a few months or a year?

I'll be utilizing GSAP for visual effects, transitional plugins, and incorporate the plugins with other SDKs like mapbox, threeJS, etc.

Hi @Naia welcome to the forum!

I don't know how Square space works with theme updates, but the end user doesn't need to do anything with GSAP, you're the one selling the theme, so you'll need the GSAP Business licence, see more here https://gsap.com/licensing/ and when you're theme updates and you update GSAP it will just be part of the whole update.

Any GSAP version will just keep working inevitably on that version, and the support wouldn't need anything more than what you probably already are going to provide with selling a theme. I would figure that the end user doesn't go in to the code to change things and will just be tweaking some parameters you expose using some custom fields?

Hope it helps and happy tweening!

Plugins are updated when a bug is found, a new feature is added or something is simply updated. You shouldn't really have to worry about this since backwards compatibility is guaranteed unless a major version is released, which will be documented and announced properly. Is not like one day everything will be running OK and the next day out of the blue nothing works anymore, that's not the way software development works and definitely not the way GSAP works, so you can be at ease in this regard.
