Can't set transformOrigin/anchor point for fontSize property animation.

Hello. I am using GSAP for animations and am having trouble setting an origin/anchor point when animating the fontSize property on an h3 tag.

gsap.to(text, {
        duration: 0.4,
        ease: "power2.out",
        fontSize: "6rem",
        y: "0%",
        top: 0,
        transformOrigin: index < prevLinkIndex ? "top left" : "top right"
      });

I have tried the above properties anchor the transform origin. Regardless it is animating from the bottom. For more context; I have a nav_link-flex-container with 3 nav_link-container-items. In each is a nav_link-wrap, a nav_link-block and then finally a nav_link-text. The text seems to animate from the bottom of the nav_link-wrap or nav_link-container. Any suggestions for getting the fontSize animation to go from the top? Thanks.

It's pretty tough to troubleshoot without a minimal demo - the issue could be caused by CSS, markup, a third party library, your browser, an external script that's totally unrelated to GSAP, etc. Would you please provide a very simple CodePen or CodeSandbox that demonstrates the issue? 

 

Please don't include your whole project. Just some colored <div> elements and the GSAP code is best (avoid frameworks if possible). See if you can recreate the issue with as few dependancies as possible. If not, incrementally add code bit by bit until it breaks. Usually people solve their own issues during this process! If not, then at least we have a reduced test case which greatly increases your chances of getting a relevant answer.

If you're using something like React/Next/Vue/Nuxt or some other framework, you may find StackBlitz easier to use. We have a series of collections with different templates for you to get started on these different frameworks: React/Next/Vue/Nuxt.

Hi there! There's not an origin point for font size - that's a transform thing!

 

Maybe you want to use scale instead?
