revblock Posted July 15, 2022 Share Posted July 15, 2022 Hi, I'm trying to get GSAP working on a NextJS site that I'm working on. The GSAP stuff worked fine in codepen but now when I'm moving it over to the NextJS site nothing is happening and I'm getting these warnings in console. Invalid property rotateY set to -9.984579799537395 Missing plugin? gsap.registerPlugin() As far as I can tell I'm importing everything correctly but here's the code from the component. export default function Hero() { const imageRef = useRef(); const plugins = [CSSPlugin]; gsap.registerPlugin(CSSPlugin); useEffect(() => { const i = gsap.utils.selector(imageRef); gsap.set(i, { xPercent: -50, yPercent: -50 }) const rotationRange = 20; const maxHeight = window.innerHeight; const maxWidth = window.innerWidth; const mouse = { x: 50, y: 50 }; const handleMouseMove = (e) => { mouse.x = (e.x / maxWidth) * 100; mouse.y = (e.y / maxHeight) * 100; const x = (mouse.x / 100) * rotationRange - 10; const y = (mouse.y / 100) * rotationRange - 10; const move = { rotateY: y, rotateX: x, x: x, y: y, }; gsap.set(i, move); }; window.addEventListener("mousemove", handleMouseMove); return () => { window.removeEventListener("mousemove", handleMouseMove) }; }, []); return ( <div> <img ref={imageRef} src="/3DLogo.png" loading="lazy" width="1063" alt="Hero" className={styles.heroImage} /> </div> ); } I've seen similar issues in other threads but none of the fixes seem to work. I've tried importing gsap from "gsap" and "gsap/dist/gsap". I've also tried importing CSSPlugin as someone mentioned it could be a tree shaking issue but nothing seems to resolve it. I'm not sure what else to try. Thanks, Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Solution revblock Posted July 15, 2022 Author Solution Share Posted July 15, 2022 Nevermind I fixed it. I was using the selector utility the wrong way and had misread the docs. 1 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Naymur Posted April 1, 2023 Share Posted April 1, 2023 how you fixed it Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
GSAP Helper Posted April 1, 2023 Share Posted April 1, 2023 Hi @Naymur, It's pretty tough to troubleshoot without a minimal demo - the issue could be caused by CSS, markup, a third party library, your browser, an external script that's totally unrelated to GSAP, etc. Would you please provide a very simple CodePen or CodeSandbox that demonstrates the issue? Please don't include your whole project. Just some colored <div> elements and the GSAP code is best (avoid frameworks if possible). See if you can recreate the issue with as few dependancies as possible. If not, incrementally add code bit by bit until it breaks. Usually people solve their own issues during this process! If not, then at least we have a reduced test case which greatly increases your chances of getting a relevant answer. Here's a starter CodePen that loads all the plugins. Just click "fork" at the bottom right and make your minimal demo: See the Pen aYYOdN by GreenSock (@GreenSock) on CodePen If you're using something like React/Next/Vue/Nuxt or some other framework, you may find StackBlitz easier to use. We have a series of collections with different templates for you to get started on these different frameworks: React/Next/Vue/Nuxt. Once we see an isolated demo, we'll do our best to jump in and help with your GSAP-specific questions. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
