Hello frosty, and Welcome to the GreenSock Forum!

With GSAP you are only limited by your imagination and can create anything you want. ScrollMagic is plugin that is targeted to do a specific task of managing scroll animations.

If you don't use ScrollMagic for your scroll animations than you would have to recreate that behavior with GSAP and write the code yourself. ScrollMagic just provides an easy way to incorporate scroll animations into your website or webpage.

So basically ScrollMagic is just a tool made with GSAP to do a specific scrolling animation task. Whereas GSAP is the foundation that you can build many tools.

GSAP provides you with a powerful API to build anything and everything you can think of. I hope that helps explain, if not? .. feel free to ask more questions..

Ah, that makes sense. So if you want animations to be linked to the native browser scrolling action then ScrollMagic will help to bridge between the two providing Greensock powered animations synced to scrolling.

Thanks for the explanation. :)
